DODIK SAYS FISCAL COUNCIL SESSION TO BE HELD SOON

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 21 /SRNA/ – SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said after the meeting with HDZ BiH representatives that there is full agreement to soon hold a Fiscal Council session in order to determine a budget framework that will be supported by the Council of Ministers.

"This shows that we are not in favor of blocking or obstructing important processes," Dodik said at a press conference.

He emphasized that an important task has been completed and that Republika Srpska has demonstrated its commitment not to halt any projects in the Federation of BiH, noting that the government has given consent for the Southern Gas Interconnection project.

"In line with our commitment, we do not stop important projects, and we expect the same from others", Dodik said.

He added that the Council of Ministers gave approval for the Eastern Interconnection several years ago and that it was agreed that consent should now be given for the Southern Interconnection as well, while discussions on the Eastern Interconnection should also take place.

He noted that there are no objections within HDZ to the Eastern Interconnection.

Dodik also reiterated Republika Srpska's position that there is no such term as state property, but that it is an imposed issue by international factors.

"Republika Srpska is a factor of agreement and has a clear stance on this. The Succession Law cannot be used as a basis for resolving this issue", Dodik said.
