BELGRADE, MAY 7 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik emphasized that the speech of the Serbian member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, at the UN Security Council was historic, essential, and objective, pointing out the narratives that are used as a basis for abuses, as well as highlighting that BiH is in a deadlock.

Dodik said that this abuse occurs on two levels: first, with the false representation of Christian Schmidt, and second, due to the failed international politics of BiH that disregards the only body authorized to lead it, the Presidency of BiH, which has been privatized by the Muslim representatives in the Presidency, Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović.

"Of course, there is also Dino Konaković," Dodik said, pointing out that there are various ambassadors who act independently in BiH, outside of established policies.

He thanked everyone who was objective at the UN Security Council and emphasized that Serbs do not need favoritism from the outside, but rather, objectively assessed facts. He said that this is why it is important to support what Cvijanović said: "If you think Schmidt is the High Representative, then let’s vote at the Security Council session and see whether he is or not."

Dodik added that the formation of an impartial, independent security commission, as well as an assessment of the legal situation and legal facts, was another request made by Cvijanović.

He told reporters in Belgrade that there has been obstruction of the voice of Republika Srpska and the Serbian side in BiH for years. A narrative has been created that everything Muslims say in the UN Security Council is accepted as definitive, until the moment the speech of the Serbian member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency was heard.

"It was a historic speech delivered by someone from our region in the United States, at the UN Security Council session," Dodik emphasized, adding that Cvijanović's speech was not directed against Muslims or Croats in BiH.

He noted that at the UN Security Council session, a decisive stance was heard from Russia, China, and many other countries, which are non-permanent members, and they spoke very neutrally.

"I can say that the position of the United States was expected; it was very balanced, pointing out the purely formal role of the OHR, which is that they can assist, and from that it should be concluded that they do not have the right to impose, and that the time for that has passed," Dodik emphasized.

He stressed that it is necessary to deal with what has been imposed so far.

“We do not accept what is imposed, but consequences remain. BiH will break on this issue - either it will survive by returning to the Constitution, or it will disappear as an unconstitutional category,” Dodik said.

The President of Republika Srpska said that this session of the UN Security Council revealed a different dimension and atmosphere, and that it is now clear why the previous session, which had outlined certain positions, emphasized the need for dialogue, that agreements must come from representatives within BiH, and no one else.

"And now you have a situation where the Muslims refuse to negotiate. Who are they to choose a side? Who are you to decide who will negotiate on behalf of Republika Srpska?" Dodik said, adding they haven’t succeeded in 30 years and won’t succeed now with what they’re trying.

He said that we’ve been living for a long time in a time where truth is called a lie, and a lie is called the truth.

“Schmidt’s narrative, when he says that problems arise the moment Mr. Dodik is convicted, yet no one talks about why I was convicted, is truly nauseating,” Dodik said.

He reiterated that Republika Srpska is not talking about any kind of separation.

“We brought Republika Srpska into BiH, and it was internationally verified as such. The narrative about separation is pure fabrication. We proposed returning to the Dayton Peace Agreement and creating something reasonable. We are the only ones defending the Constitution of BiH,” Dodik said.
