EAST SARAJEVO, May 2 /SRNA/ – The Serb member and Chairperson of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović has told SRNA that, unlike the Bosniak member Denis Bećirović, she does not intend to pretend to be speaking on behalf of all of BiH during the upcoming UN Security Council session.
Responding to Bećirović's assertion that she ought to represent the views of the state of BiH at the session - but that her own positions indicate conduct that is allegedly unconstitutional and unlawful - Cvijanović emphasized that the Constitution of BiH clearly outlines the roles and competencies of each member of the Presidency, as well as the criteria for what constitutes an official position of the state.
"The way he spoke earlier is the same way I will speak now. And if I may add a touch of levity – that's the charm of BiH," Cvijanović remarked.
Regarding Bećirović's announcement that he intends to inform the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council ambassadors about her positions, Cvijanović stated that she is entirely indifferent to his opinion, to what he chooses to write to others, and emphasized that he is not in a position to evaluate or pass judgment on her views.
