CVIJANOVIĆ: SRPSKA AND ISRAEL ENJOY HIGH LEVEL OF POLITICAL UNDERSTANDING

JERUSALEM, JUNE 22 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stated, following a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that the political understanding between Republika Srpska and Israel is at a high level and that Israel is ready to cooperate with Republika Srpska across a broad range of areas.

"The highlight of all the meetings was the meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, during which we also discussed opportunities to enhance economic cooperation and strengthen links between ministries in the Government of Republika Srpska and their counterparts in the Government of Israel", Cvijanović told RTRS during her visit to Israel.

She emphasized that there is a shared commitment to maintaining political understanding and continuing regular consultations.

"I am truly grateful to the Prime Minister for the understanding he has shown toward Republika Srpska. He appreciates our efforts to preserve ourselves, so to speak, as a community of people determined to safeguard our identity, culture and constitutional competencies. In that regard, we are definitely at a very high level of mutual understanding", Cvijanović stated.

According to her, this is not a partnership that emerged recently but one built on decades of mutual understanding and good relations.

"What is important is that we are committed to ensuring that what connected us in the past and continues to connect us today, is reflected through joint projects and cooperation. We are ready to continue working together in the future and that is the most important message from all of these meetings", Cvijanović stressed.

Cvijanović noted that the talks also covered regional issues, ongoing conflicts, security threats and relations with the United States and the European Union.

"All of these were important topics. What is particularly encouraging is Israel's readiness to cooperate with Republika Srpska in every field, especially in the areas of the economy and energy", added Cvijanović.

The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović is scheduled to address the International Policy Summit in Jerusalem later today.
