DAYTON, MAY 25 /SRNA/ - Željka Cvijanović, the Serb Member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, told SRNA that Bosniak officials have now contaminated the city of Dayton, just as they have done for years with the Dayton Peace Agreement itself.
When asked by SRNA to comment on the fact that Bosniak Presidency member Denis Bećirović used every meeting with U.S. officials in Dayton to attack Republika Srpska and its leadership, Cvijanović responded that the differences among representatives from BiH are clear and that the Bosniak political staff is continually directing accusations at Republika Srpska.
“But these accusations no longer have the impact they used to. U.S. officials are now talking about the need to preserve peace. They say they’re willing to listen, but they no longer want to impose solutions. Their foreign policy is mostly focused on economic cooperation,” Cvijanović emphasized.
She has added that there are still remnants of the old U.S. administration who continue to promote a failed agenda - pushing sanctions, eliminating political opponents, and interfering in the internal affairs of BiH and other countries.
“But they are in the minority and clearly didn’t hear U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance when he said there’s a new sheriff in town, i.e. in Washington. We in Republika Srpska understood that very well and we want good cooperation with the U.S.A that will benefit everyone in BiH, without favouring some and punishing others.”
She has stated that made-up narratives about secession, Russian influence, the need for foreign powers to make decisions on behalf of BiH, or the justification for unelected foreigners to dictate terms, are not topics for the current U.S. administration. They have clearly stated the world is changing, and I believe it would be wise for everyone in BiH to start thinking about that responsibly, so this country doesn't become another missed opportunity,” Cvijanović concluded.
