SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 20th /SRNA/ - The Council of Ministers has frozen the assets of 11 citizens of BiH who are linked to terrorism, including Nusret Imamović from Gornja Maoča, who joined the terrorist group Islamic State 13 years ago. Imamović's current location is unknown, and his name is also on the global list of the U.S. State Department's most wanted terrorists.
According to Dnevni avaz, among the list of 11 BiH citizens whose assets have been frozen is Emir Ćelam, who is associated with the Islamic State terrorist group, and for whom a red Interpol notice was issued eight years ago at the request of BiH authorities. Jasmin Grabus, who some regional media outlets reported was killed in Syria, is also on the list.
The list includes Muradif Hamzabegović, Azur Karasuljić, Hariz Mešanović, Adem Mešanović, Meho Mešanović, Aleksandar Ružić, Edin Zukić, and Sena Hamzabegović.
These are individuals who, according to Dnevni avaz, joined paramilitary formations and for whom arrest warrants were issued due to their involvement in foreign battlefields.
The Council of Ministers stated that this decision is part of BiH's obligations arising from the UN Security Council Resolution and the implementation of the local mechanism for listing.
"These decisions are preventive in nature and are aimed at ensuring the security of BiH and fulfilling the country’s international obligations, including those related to financial sanctions for terrorism under the Moneyval, and do not represent the establishment of criminal liability nor prejudice the outcome of any legal proceedings before competent courts or prosecutors," said the Council of Ministers.
Individual decisions will be published on the official website of the Ministry of Security in the Council of Ministers and in the Official Gazette of BiH.
