ZAKHAROVA: REPORTS OF RUSSIAN ATTACK ON TRAIN - CHEAP MARKETING TRICK

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 15 /SRNA/ - Media claims that Russian forces deliberately attacked a train carrying Western officials are part of an exaggerated information campaign aimed at securing military supplies for Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

She described it as a cheap marketing trick related to the travel of certain political figures near a train carrying military cargo that was hit.

"The goal of this information campaign is obvious - to once again try to secure military supplies for Vladimir Zelensky’s regime by frightening the average European with an alleged Russian threat at NATO’s doorstep," Zakharova said in a statement.

She stressed that Kyiv uses Western politicians and senior officials as a "human shield" to conceal its military rail shipments, RIA Novosti reported.

"The public warnings we issued earlier remain in force, and Western politicians and diplomats must assess the risks rationally - especially given that no one can guarantee the safety of their visits aimed at appeasing Kyiv," Zakharova said.

It was reported earlier that a Russian drone struck a train on the Ukraine-Poland border shortly after European security officials and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had passed through the area on another train.

Ukrainian and foreign media claim that Russian armed forces deliberately attacked on September 13 a train carrying Johnson and former US Central Intelligence Agency Director David Petraeus, as well as officials from several other Western countries, from Kyiv.
