XI: CHINA READY TO STRENGTHEN EXCHANGES AND COOPERATION WITH ALL COUNTRIES

BEIJING, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ – Chinese President Xi Jinping says China is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all countries and make a further contribution to global economic growth and the improvement of people’s well-being.

Xi sent his congratulatory message on the occasion of the 48th WorldSkills Competition, which opened yesterday in Shanghai, stressing that a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is developing rapidly, which is profoundly impacting the development of vocational skills worldwide.

"The competition, which is closely aligned with the needs of industry, provides a valuable platform for professionals from different countries to improve their skills and learn from one another," Xi noted.

He emphasized that China, as the host of this year’s competition, would use the opportunity to encourage and guide more workers, particularly young people, to build their path to success through the development of vocational skills.

"China is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all countries, promote the development of the WorldSkills movement, and make a further contribution to global economic growth and the improvement of people’s well-being," Xi said.

The WorldSkills Competition opened yesterday in Shanghai themed "Master Skills, Change Your Future", the China Media Group reported.

The competition is organised by the WorldSkills international organisation, with China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government serving as co-organisers.

As part of the event, the WorldSkills Conference and WorldSkills Expo will also be held.
