NEW YORK, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ - The United States has warned several Persian Gulf countries of the possibility of a "short but intense military campaign against Iran" after the US congressional elections on November 3, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed sources.

According to the paper, the Pentagon has already evacuated US troops from Middle East bases that could be at risk and has begun replenishing ammunition stocks, while US bombers and fighter jets stand ready for further action, TASS reported.

The paper says US President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision on resuming military operations, but is leaning towards ordering a larger-scale strike on Iran after the elections.
