SRPSKA SUPPORTS ISRAEL AND SERBIA, GENDARME DESERVES SERBIAN PEOPLE'S GRATITUDE

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik said he was horrified by the terrorist attack on the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, and that the Gendarmerie officer who killed the attacker in self-defense deserves the gratitude of the entire Serb people.

Dodik stressed that Republika Srpska stands with Israel, Serbia and everyone on the front line of the fight against extremism, fanaticism and terrorism.

"The Gendarmerie officer who was attacked with two knives last night, and who overpowered and killed the attacker in self-defense, deserves the gratitude of the entire Serb people. I wish him a speedy recovery and full strength," Dodik said.

He noted that this was not an attack on just one embassy, but a reminder that the common enemies of Jews and Serbs never rest.

"The same money, the same ideologues, the same hatred. That is why our solidarity with Israel is lasting, sincere and unreserved. Serbs and Jews share the same fate and the same struggle - and that is why we stand by each other, today and always," Dodik pos otedn X.

A minor, believed to be from Šabac, attacked a Gendarmerie officer guarding the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade with two knives, shouting "Allahu Akbar".

The officer killed the attacker in self-defense and sustained minor injuries.
