WASHINGTON, JUNE 20 /SRNA/ – U.S. President Donald Trump has presented a new presidential aircraft, “Air Force One”, painted in red, white, dark blue, and gold, which was reportedly a gift from the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During the presentation, Trump thanked the Qatari emir and said the aircraft is considered the most luxurious in the world, built to a standard that may never be matched again.
According to him, the new plane is necessary for the United States to keep pace with more modern aircraft used by foreign leaders.
“These countries respect us greatly, yet they have aircraft that are much newer and much better. It is somewhat absurd,” he said.
The new “Air Force One” was presented a day after White House officials bid farewell to one of the two Boeing 747s in the presidential fleet, which had served for more than 30 years transporting U.S. presidents.
The two older Boeing 747 aircraft entered service in 1990 during the presidency of George H. W. Bush.
