TRUMP: NEW MEXICO SHOULD CHANGE ITS NAME TO NEW AMERICA

WASHINGTON, OCTOBER 19 /SRNA-RIA Novosti/ – US President Donald Trump said today that the state of New Mexico should be renamed New America.

"New Mexico should immediately change its name to New America. We are not Mexico but the United States of America," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He said the new name would give the state greater value and prestige.

In August, Trump signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America amid tensions with Canada.

He also changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

Trump also criticized France's immigration policy, saying migrants had destroyed the country and expressing hope that it would recover.

Mass demonstrations over the rising cost of living and declining education standards escalated into clashes with police over the weekend. More than 2,000 people were arrested yesterday.
