TRUMP EXPECTS REPUBLICANS TO WIN MIDTERM ELECTIONS

WASHINGTON, NOVEMBER 3 /SRNA/ – President Donald Trump is confident that his Republican Party will win today's congressional elections.

"I think the results will be much better than expected," Trump said.

He said he believes his party will keep its majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Americans are electing all 435 members of the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 members of the US Senate today.

Besides the House and the Senate, most US states are also holding elections for governor, including California, Arizona and Michigan.

Republicans currently hold a slim majority in the House, with 218 of 435 seats, while Democrats hold 214.

Two seats are vacant, and Representative Kevin Kiley is now an independent after leaving the Republican Party.

Many voters have already cast their ballots. The University of Florida Election Lab has counted more than 55 million early votes.

Trump was among those who voted early, casting his ballot at a polling station in Palm Beach, Florida, on October 24.
