TRUMP BEGINS TWO-DAY VISIT TO IRELAND

DUBLIN, SEPTEMBER 12 /SRNA/ – US President Donald Trump has arrived in Ireland for a two-day visit, with Irish police organizing one of the largest security operations in the country's history.

Trump is expected to meet President Catherine Connolly at her official residence, Aras an Uachtaráin, in Dublin's Phoenix Park, as well as Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin at the nearby Farmleigh estate.

Former Irish prime ministers Bertie Ahern and Enda Kenny were among hundreds of guests who arrived at the residence of US Ambassador to Ireland Edward Walsh ahead of Trump's arrival, PA Media reported.

Trump will deliver a speech in a tent erected on the Phoenix Park estate, which has been decorated with US flags.

He will later travel to his golf resort in Doonbeg, County Clare, which is hosting the Irish Open.

Martin said he looked forward to welcoming Trump to Ireland and "discussing with him many issues of mutual interest, while reaffirming the strong economic, cultural and people-to-people ties between Ireland and the United States".
