TRUCK CARRYING 20 TONNES OF CHEESE DISAPPEARS

BERLIN, JULY 14 /SRNA/ - A truck carrying nearly 20 tonnes of Emmental cheese, worth around 80,000 euros, has disappeared while travelling from Germany to France.

More than a week after the delivery was due, there is still no sign of the cargo at its destination in France, and police in Bayreuth, Bavaria, are trying to determine where the truck carrying the cheese disappeared.

Police said that a transit company based in Kempten used an online portal to hire a specialised logistics company based in Bulgaria to transport the cheese to France.

That company sent a truck to the loading station in Bayreuth, and it departed on July 6.

At that point, the story begins to have holes worthy of the Swiss delicacy itself, Deutsche Welle reports.
