NEW YORK, NOVEMBER 1 /SRNA/ - U.S. President Donald Trump said he would like to run for another term if the law allowed him to do so.
"I would love to run again if I had the opportunity, but the wording of the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, which limits presidents to two elected terms, is very precise," Trump said.
He recalled that he still had two years left in his term.
"That is a lot of time. You can get a lot done in that period," Trump stressed.
Under the law, Trump's second term as president ends in January 2029, and the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, adopted in 1951, limits presidents to two terms.
However, Trump has repeatedly hinted that he could run for a third term. Trump was re-elected in November 2024. His first presidential term ran from 2017 to 2021, TASS reports.
