STRONG EARTHQUAKE HITS COAST OF EAST TIMOR

DILI, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - A magnitude 5.9 earthquake has struck off the coast of East Timor, the US Geological Survey said.

The earthquake was recorded 397 kilometers from East Timor's capital, Dili, and 254 kilometers from the settlement of Lospalos.

The center lay at a depth of almost 112 kilometers.

No victims or damage were reported.
