JERUSALEM, JULY 13 /SRNA/ - Sara Netanyahu, the wife of the Israeli prime minister, is seeking formal approval from the National Security Council /NSC/ and the Shin Bet security service for expanded protection for herself and her two sons over the next five years, Channel 12 reported.
She wants the enhanced security measures to take effect immediately, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming elections.
Channel 12 reports that the NSC and the Shin Bet have refrained for weeks from providing their professional opinion on the matter.
The ministerial committee for Shin Bet affairs will meet tomorrow in Jerusalem to discuss the request.
The domestic intelligence agency is likely to agree to increase security until the threat is reduced, without committing to a specific timeframe, The Times of Israel reports.
