RHEINMETALL DELIVERS ARTILLERY SHELLS TO UKRAINE

BERLIN, JULY 14 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - The German defense company Rheinmetall has delivered artillery shells to Ukraine from its factory in the town of Unterlüß, which was opened in August 2025.

"Rheinmetall is delivering artillery shells to Ukraine from its Unterlüß factory for the first time. Previously, deliveries were made from other production sites of the company," the company said in a statement.

The first batch of ammunition delivered from Unterlüß includes a five-digit number of shells and propellant charges produced at other facilities.

The company said that a key component of the shipment is the "RH1412" shell, which Rheinmetall describes as the latest development in its artillery portfolio. The shells can be used in various 155-millimetre calibre systems.

More than half of the ordered ammunition has already been delivered to Ukraine, and the remainder will be supplied by the end of the year.

Rheinmetall is one of the largest manufacturers of military equipment and weapons in Europe.

The company’s revenue growth has been driven by deliveries of German weapons to Ukraine, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, air defense systems and artillery ammunition.

At the end of 2023, the Financial Times described the company as one of the biggest beneficiaries of rising global instability.
