ALGECIRAS, AUGUST 3 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - A second group of migrants in the last 48 hours has arrived by boat on the coast of mainland Spain near Algeciras, the closest major port to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, a member of local law enforcement told RIA Novosti, adding that the police are searching for them.
"This morning, emergency services received a report regarding the arrival of a boat carrying migrants. We have not yet determined the exact number of people who were on board," the source stated.
Police found the abandoned boat near the Punta Carnero lighthouse, but upon arriving at the scene, they did not find the migrants near the vessel or in the surrounding area, the source added.
This is already the third boat with migrants to reach mainland Spain in less than 48 hours. A group of 17 migrants arrived yesterday in two boats.
