PETRENKO: CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS LAUNCHED OVER TERRORISM

MOSCOW, AUGUST 4 /SRNA/ – Criminal proceedings on terrorism charges have been initiated after the Ukrainian armed forces attacked civilian facilities, including warehouses, in the Moscow and Leningrad regions, Russian Investigative Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko said.

"The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on charges of terrorism based on attacks carried out by Ukrainian armed groups against civilian facilities, including warehouses in the Moscow and Leningrad regions," Petrenko said.

Earlier, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said in a post on Telegram that at least five people were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on an industrial zone in the Moscow Region.

He added that at least 10 people were injured in the attack in the Chekhov district, south of Moscow.

Russia's Ministry of Defence announced today that it had shot down at least 320 Ukrainian drones overnight, including some over the Moscow and Leningrad regions.

Leningrad Region Governor Alexandr Drozdenko said in posts on Telegram that at least 17 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted over the region.

"Damage has been recorded in the warehouse area of Krasny Bor," Drozdenko said, noting that one of the facilities belonging to Wildberries, one of Russia's largest online retailers, was among the damaged buildings.
