BRATISLAVA, NOVEMBER 7 /SRNA/ - Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said the results of Slovakia’s EU accession referendum may have been falsified.
"We held a referendum which, had it not been rigged, would not have been successful. The margin was so narrow that, in my opinion, adjustments were made to ensure the outcome was what was needed for Slovakia to approve joining this organisation," Fico said.
The party Fico leads published part of his discussion on social media.
Of the 10 referendums held in Slovakia over the years, only one was successful – the referendum on joining the EU in May 2003, which saw voter turnout of more than 52 per cent.
Slovakia joined the EU in 2004.
