PANKIN: ANTI-RUSSIAN SANCTIONS ARE NOT WORKING

MOSCOW, NOVEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Anti-Russian sanctions are not working, and the EU is inflicting far greater damage on its own economy while undermining global energy and food security, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Pankin said.

He assessed that the EU had "exhausted its leverage over Russia" and noted that, under the current circumstances, the EU Council had only managed to expand its blacklists of individuals and legal entities.

"This once again demonstrates the structural weakness of the European bureaucracy, which has exhausted its leverage over Moscow but, in order to save face, is no longer capable of halting its anti-Russian actions and beginning to back down," Pankin told TASS.

Pankin condemned all unilateral coercive measures aimed at circumventing the UN Security Council.
