MOSCOW, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ - Everyone can now see how a multipolar world is truly becoming a reality, an objective and irreversible trend, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum and Summit.
Putin said the forum, with its themes, range of participants and free and open dialogue, fits well into the global processes of transformation, whose scale and depth are so significant they can hardly be overestimated.
He stressed that it is high time to change the way the International Monetary Fund /IMF/ and the World Bank operate.
"Our country has also consistently advocated a stronger role for Africa in governance and key decision-making within multilateral development institutions, above all the IMF and the World Bank.
In any case, the question arises of reforming these organizations and reorienting them towards the needs and demands of developing economies," Putin said.
According to him, Russia supports a greater role for Africa in decision-making within international organizations.
"Russia and Africa have together created the preconditions for the transition to a just multipolar world," Putin said.
The third Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum and Summit opened in Moscow today and ends tomorrow.
