MOSCOW REMAINS COMMITTED TO NEGOTIATIONS

MOSCOW, AUGUST 3 /SRNA/ - Moscow is not giving up on negotiations with Ukraine and is ready to consider constructive proposals, including those concerning formats for contacts, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said.

"Russian officials have repeatedly said that we are always open to negotiations. The Ukrainian side was the one that interrupted them and even banned them itself. We have never refused to consider constructive proposals," Galuzin told the Izvestia newspaper.

He said that it does not depend on Russia whether constructive proposals will be put on the table.

Galuzin noted that over five months have passed since the last round of talks in Geneva in February, which included the United States. "In the meantime, Ukrainian diplomats have repeatedly interrupted the dispute resolution process, while other countries were ready to provide a platform for negotiations," Galuzin explained.

He noted that Turkey, for example, had repeatedly acted as a mediator between Moscow and Kyiv, offering a platform for a settlement. "The United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Switzerland were also considered as diplomatic venues, although the Russian authorities were not certain about Switzerland’s neutrality," Galuzin said.

At the end of June, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia was ready to resume negotiations and discuss all the details and issues raised in Anchorage in August 2025, RIA Novosti reported.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Moscow is ready for a peaceful resolution in Ukraine, but has sufficient capabilities to continue the special military operation.
