MORE DOCUMENTS ON 9/11 TERRORIST ATTACKS DECLASSIFIED

WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ - CIA Director John Ratcliffe has declassified 71 daily presidential intelligence reports containing intelligence on the activities of Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden in the years before and immediately after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Key facts from the reports include early and repeated warnings of possible attacks in the United States dating back to 1998, as well as specific warnings issued on September 10, 1998, about the possibility of hijacking civilian aircraft for the purpose of carrying out attacks.

The Twin Towers, the Pentagon and other locations were also mentioned as possible targets of terrorist attacks.

The reports also contain assessments of bin Laden’s interest in unconventional weapons, including the potential development or acquisition of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons, the training of militants in Afghanistan and efforts to improve explosive devices, as well as information on the network infrastructure, contacts and resources available to the Taliban in the United States.

The complete package of documents is available on the CIA website, while certain names and addresses have been redacted to protect the identities of witnesses and the confidentiality of certain locations, as well as other sensitive information.

This is the largest package of declassified daily presidential intelligence reports concerning the September 11 attacks released to date, and was published ahead of the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
