MILITARY CONFIRMS STRIKES ON TARGETS IN IRAN

WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 1 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – The US Central Command has confirmed that it is carrying out strikes on targets in Iran, saying they followed attempted attacks by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on civilian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

"Today, US forces began carrying out strikes on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets in Iran. The strikes followed recent attempted attacks by the Guard on civilian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and on US troops deployed in the region," the Command posted on X.

Iranian Press TV reported a series of explosions in the area of Qeshm Island in southern Iran.

Earlier in the day, Axios also reported the strikes, citing US officials.
