PARIS, JUNE 15 /SRNA/ - French President Emmanuel Macron warned Iran against a transit fee on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
"We defend international law, and we will do everything in our power to ensure there is no fee," Macron told TF1 ahead of the Group of Seven summit in France, which will also be attended by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Details of the US–Iran agreement have not been made public. Macron said the agreement had already been signed "electronically" and that additional annexes would be "finalized" on Friday.
The Iranian news agency Fars reported that Tehran added a clause introducing maritime service fees to the framework agreement with the United States to end the Middle East war, shortly before its publication.
