MACRON SIGNED LAW TO LEGALIZE EUTHANASIA

PARIS, AUGUST 19 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - French President Emmanuel Macron has signed a law to legalize euthanasia in France, according to the text of the document published in the government gazette Journal Officiel.

The French parliament approved the initiative in mid-July, and the French Constitutional Court ruled on Friday, August 14, that it was in line with the French Constitution.

The law provides for the right to euthanasia for adults who are in the late stages of a serious and fatal illness. The procedure will be possible if the person is suffering from the disease and cannot be alleviated by medication.
