PARIS, OCTOBER 2 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – The Group of Seven /G7/ member states have agreed to release up to 100 million barrels of diesel from their reserves in an effort to stabilize the fuel market, French President Emmanuel Macron announced.
"We have decided, together with our partners and in coordination with the International Energy Agency, to release up to 100 million barrels from strategic reserves over a period of four months," Macron posted on X.
The post added that the G7 would accelerate the release of diesel over the next 20 days.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Europe would release a large amount of fuel from its reserves and that the process would begin immediately.
