LUXEMBOURG, SEPTEMNBER 19 /SRNA/ – Flights at Luxembourg Airport were temporarily suspended after unidentified drones were spotted, the government said.
The incident occurred on Friday night, prompting authorities to close the airspace as a precaution. A total of 19 arriving flights were diverted to other airports.
"Following two inspections that ruled out any immediate risk to aviation safety, airport operations resumed at around 1:20 a.m.," today's government statement says.
The government added that an inter-ministerial unit had been convened to assess the situation and consider appropriate surveillance measures.
