GUTERRES: SECURITY COUNCIL WITHOUT AFRICAN REPRESENTATIVE IS UNJUST

NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ - A UN Security Council without a permanent African representative is unjust, and such a situation cannot be defended, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.

"Africa still has no permanent seat on the Security Council. A 21st-century Security Council without a permanent African representative is unjust and indefensible," Guterres posted on X.

He added that the UN Security Council must be "reformed to reflect today's world with the legitimacy and effectiveness demanded by today's challenges."
