GERMAN JOURNALIST ORDERED TO BE DETAINED IN ABSENTIA OVER CALL TO KILL RUSSIANS

MOSCOW, AUGUST 26 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - A Moscow court has ordered the detention in absentia of Michael Martens, a correspondent for the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, on charges of inciting hatred or hostility, and has issued a wanted notice for him.

On August 8, at a press conference held in Belgrade by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Martens asked what European countries could do to help kill more Russians.

"The court decided to order Martens’ detention in absentia," a source who attended the proceedings said.

Russia’s Interior Ministry has placed him on a wanted list.
