GLASGOW, September 15 /SRNA/ — Great Britain has practically come to an end, while the Scottish people have decided to turn off that road to ruin, Workers Party of Britain leader George Galloway said.

"No one supports staying in Britain anymore. There is a saying about the last straw that breaks the camel's back. You do not know which straw will be the last until you put it on the camel's back and see its back break. We have reached precisely that point," Galloway said in an interview with TASS.

He noted that he had previously opposed Scottish independence, but said he is now certain that the British state, the so-called United Kingdom, has effectively reached its end.

"Scotland can become a separate state, and that is why there is an exit, a turn-off from the highway leading to hell. And the people of Scotland have decisively set themselves on the path toward leaving," Galloway said.

He added that around 70 to 75 percent of young people in Scotland support independence from Great Britain.

The leaders of Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland signed a Memorandum of Understanding yesterday on the right to self-determination, affirming the right of the peoples of those countries to determine their own future.
