FORD RECALLS MORE THAN 225,000 VEHICLES DUE TO RISK OF MULTIPLE FAULTS

WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 14 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - US automaker Ford is recalling more than 225,000 vehicles in the United States due to the risk of various faults, including an improperly secured fuel tank, according to a statement by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The agency said the largest recall covers 223,472 F-150 vehicles manufactured from 2023 onward due to an error in the installation of the fuel tank, which could cause it to leak or become detached from the vehicle while driving.

The agency also said that the manufacturer is recalling an additional 1,945 Transit vehicles whose production began this year and will continue through next year because the seat belt reminder system may not function properly and detect when a seat belt has been fastened.

"As a result, the faulty indicator may fail to warn passengers that their seat belts are not fastened," the agency said.

The traffic safety regulator added that dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace the necessary parts free of charge in order to remedy the identified problems.
