MOSCOW, AUGUST 25 /SRNA-Reuters/ - Three people were killed and around 150 injured in a fire that broke out at a gas and chemical complex under construction in Russia’s Far East, the facility’s press service said.
Twenty-four of those injured were admitted to hospital.
The complex, which is billed as one of the world’s largest producers of polyethylene and polypropylene, is a joint project of Russian company Sibur and Chinese oil and gas company Sinopec.
Production has not yet begun.
Russia’s Investigative Committee said it was investigating the incident as a possible violation of industrial safety regulations.
