WASHINGTON, NOVEMBER 4 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – The US Embassy in France has warned of protests planned for tomorrow and advised American citizens to avoid large gatherings.
"Protests, demonstrations and rallies continue across France. A strike has been called for tomorrow in several sectors and will involve education and health workers, civil servants and public transport across France," the embassy said in a statement.
It warned that the protests could spill beyond planned routes and could continue into the weekend.
Europe has been hit by a wave of protests over the rising cost of living this autumn.
The demonstrations in France began in mid-September, when high school students from the Paris suburbs took to the streets demanding better conditions in schools.
They were later joined by various trade unions, and the protests spread to other parts of France and Europe.
