MOSCOW, OCTOBER 21 /SRNA-RIA Novosti/ – Russia and the United States are actively engaged in dialogue on energy projects, and an agreement on diesel fuel will begin to be implemented tomorrow, Russian presidential special envoy for international economic cooperation Kirill Dmitriev said.

"We all know about the diesel fuel agreement, which will begin to be implemented tomorrow, as well as plans to build joint data processing centers for artificial intelligence. This cooperation will continue steadily and actively," Dmitriev told reporters.

He said economic cooperation between the two countries had been the main topic of his meeting today with US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff.

"Economic cooperation between Russia and the United States was discussed, and the sides reached a clear understanding that this cooperation would only expand despite opposition from Europe," Dmitriev stressed.

He described the suspension of US sanctions against Russia as an important step.

Dmitriev praised the Trump administration's commitment to cooperation with Russia and announced that numerous joint projects would be implemented.

According to Dmitriev, humanitarian cooperation was also discussed.

"In this regard, we would like to highlight the role of US First Lady Melania Trump. As you know, she is actively cooperating with Moscow on reuniting children with their families, as well as on other humanitarian issues," Dmitriev said.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Witkoff in St. Petersburg.

Dmitriev and Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov also took part in the talks.
