DING: CHINA READY TO CONTRIBUTE TO IMPROVING GLOBAL ENERGY SECURITY

BEIJING, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – China is ready to work with other countries to improve global energy security and sustainable development, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang said.

"China will always work to maintain stability in global energy markets, contribute to the global green and low-carbon transition, and participate in international energy cooperation," Ding said at the opening of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation /APEC/ Energy Ministrial Meeting in Beijing.

He noted that China is actively engaged in practical energy cooperation within APEC, efficiently promoting the development of the energy sector in the region, making an important contribution to safeguarding global energy security.

Ding called for accelerated development of distributed energy resources and electric vehicle charging infrastructure in order to promote inclusive energy development in the Asia-Pacific region and thereby contribute to global energy security and sustainable development, reports China Media Group.

He called for joint research and development of new technologies, such as advanced energy storage systems and digital power grids, as well as the broader application of mature technologies and developed use cases, in order to provide further support for the energy transition in the Asia-Pacific region.

"It is necessary to ensure the stable operation of industrial and supply chains in the energy sector and enable the smooth functioning of regional and global energy markets," Ding said.
