DEATH TOLL RISES TO 321

BOGOTA, AUGUST 21 /SRNA/ - The death toll from the earthquake in Colombia has risen to 321, the National Disaster Risk Management Unit announced.

The Unit's statement on X said that 4,595 people were injured, 364 were rescued, and 257 people are still missing.

The Unit announced yesterday that 319 people had died.

An earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale struck on August 10 near the city of San José del Palmar.

Official data shows that the earthquake destroyed almost 31,000 homes and damaged 151,995 buildings.
