DEATH TOLL FROM FLOODS RISES TO 1,355

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 7 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - The death toll from floods in northern Nepal has risen to 1,355, the Nepalese authorities said.

According to the most recent reports, a total of 4,996 people reportedly remain missing.

Xinhua news agency previously reported 1,344 dead and 4,898 missing.

Flooding struck northern Nepal on the morning of August 26 a glacier retreated and triggered a landslide.
