DEATH TOLL CLIMBS TO 319

BOGOTA, AUGUST 20 /SRNA/ - The death toll from the earthquake in Colombia has risen to 319, Colombia's National Disaster Risk Management Unit said.

The statement said 4,469 people were injured and 260 were listed as missing.

According to the Unit, 364 people have been rescued so far.

Official data shows that the earthquake destroyed almost 31,000 homes and damaged 151,995 buildings.

The 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck on August 10 near the city of San José del Palmar.

The unit announced yesterday that 312 people had died.
