BITCOIN PRICE EXCEEDS $84,000 FOR FIRST TIME SINCE JANUARY 31

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 21 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - The price of Bitcoin has risen by four percent, exceeding $84,000, according to exchange data.

According to CoinMarketCap, which calculates the average price across more than 20 exchanges, Bitcoin was trading at $83,773.28 this morning, representing an increase of 4.36 percent. For a brief period, the price reached $84,174.40.

Crypto exchange Traders Union said the reason for the increase in Bitcoin's value was that liquidations in the cryptocurrency market exceeded $430 million over a 12-hour period, with short positions accounting for $382.5 million of the total liquidations.
