BEIJING CALLS ON TOKYO AND SEOUL TO ADHERE TO NUCLEAR NON-PROLIFERATION TREATY

BEIJING, SEPTEMBER 3 /SRNA/ - Japan and South Korea must fulfill their international obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Chinese Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized that Japan and South Korea must not undermine regional security.

The comment came after the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the United States, Japan, and South Korea are increasingly stepping up military cooperation, adding that Seoul and Tokyo want to develop the nuclear component of military cooperation with Washington, which threatens to spread weapons of mass destruction.
