AT LEAST SEVEN PEOPLE DEAD IN MASSIVE FLOODS IN INDIANA

WASHINGTON, AUGUST 17 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - Several days of rainfall and floods in the state of Indiana have claimed at least seven lives, announced the spokesperson of the Department of Homeland Security of Indiana.

Since the beginning of the heavy rainfall on August 11, three men, three women, and a four-year-old boy have lost their lives, the report states.

The latest victim was identified as a 31-year-old cyclist, who was found dead in a hole formed on a damaged road east of the capital Indianapolis.

As stated, the man bypassed a barricade preventing passage, after which he fell into the hole.

Floods in Indianapolis reached their peak yesterday, after which the water level started to drop, leaving behind damaged infrastructure and large amounts of water that still pose a danger.
