AT LEAST 59 PEOPLE ARRESTED ON SUSPECT OF ARREST

PARIS, JULY 14 /SRNA/ - At least 59 people have been arrested across France on suspicion of arson in the country, French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said.

He said half of those arrested were minors.

Nunez stressed that the fire in the Fontainebleau forest area was not yet under control, and that another fire broke out nearby during the night.

According to him, the fire had spread to just a few kilometers from the Fontainebleau Castle, which justified the deployment of a large number of people and resources, including firefighting planes and helicopters.

About 900 people were evacuated as the fire spread. /end/pj
