AT LEAST 14 PEOPLE INJURED IN FIRE ON NEW YORK CITY SUBWAY

NEW YORK, AUGUST 4 /SRNA–RIA Novosti/ – At least 14 people were injured in a fire that broke out on a maintenance train in the Manhattan subway, Fox News reported, citing officials.

The train is operated by New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the fire filled the station with thick smoke.

According to the report, 141 firefighters and rescue personnel responded to the scene.

Eight Metropolitan Transportation Authority maintenance workers and six firefighters sustained minor injuries.

Fox News added that passenger train service was rerouted following the incident.
