AMSTERDAM, AUGUST 28 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - The Dutch authorities are once again attempting to unlawfully seize Russian assets frozen in Europe, but such a move will not go without consequences, the Russian Embassy in the Netherlands said on Friday.
“This will spell the end of trust in the banking sector, because the Dutch government is behind this theft,” the embassy wrote on X.
The embassy has warned that if such a step is taken, the consequences will be severe.
Earlier this week, Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen said that Amsterdam was joining Sweden in calling on the European Commission to revive an initiative to use frozen Russian assets to finance Ukraine.
