1.3 KILOGRAMS OF COCAINE FOUND IN NIGERIAN MAN'S BODY

PALMA DE MALLORCA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ - Spanish police detained a Nigerian man in whose body they found 109 packets of cocaine weighing around 1.3 kilograms during a check at the airport in Palma de Mallorca.

The Nigerian man had arrived on a flight from Charleroi, Belgium, and police had received information about a passenger suspected of concealing drugs inside his body in order to smuggle them into Mallorca.

Police managed to locate and identify him before taking him to the customs facilities, where he underwent an X-ray examination, Spanish media reported.

The scan revealed numerous foreign objects inside his body, whose shape and arrangement were consistent with packets used to smuggle drugs internally.

He was taken to Son Espases University Hospital, where it was confirmed that he had cocaine concealed inside his body.

The Nigerian man was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, and the court ordered that he be held on remand.
