MEMBER OF GLASINAC JANA JAKŠIĆ TO COMPETE AT WORLD SCHOOL SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP IN APRIL

SOKOLAC, MARCH 26 /SRNA/ - Young athlete from Glasinac club in Sokolac Jana Jakšić will participate in the World School Sports Championship "Školarijada 2025," which will be held from April 4 to 14 on Mount Zlatibor, announced the club.

Jakšić will compete as a member of the Republika Srpska team, which consists of 47 young athletes under the age of 15.

One of the coaches for Glasinac Neđo Đurović told SRNA that Jakšić earned her place in the Republika Srpska team for participation in the "Školarijada" due to her good results, which is a recognition for the young athlete, as well as for the club and Sokolac.

He highlighted Jakšić's good results and expressed hope that she will achieve solid performances at the "Školarijada," although the competition among athletes under 15 years old from around the world is extremely strong.

Jakšić expects to compete in the 200-meter and 400-meter races, as well as the 300-meter hurdles race and a baton race.

"I am excited to be part of such a big sports event for the first time, and I hope to represent my municipality and Republika Srpska in the best possible way," said Jakšić.

The Republika Srpska team will be led by coach Vesna Tomić, a former multiple champion of the former Yugoslavia in cross-country and middle-distance running, as well as a European champion from Trebinje.

The World School Sports Championship "Školarijada" is expected to see participation of around 5,000 athletes, with young athletes aged 13 to 15 competing in 22 sports and three parasports.
